Hi, I'm pretty noob with this stuff, so bear with me please

Anyhoozle, I've gotten Project64 and its working fine in all respects. I do however, have a question related to controllers. I would like to use a joystick like the type typically used in Flight Simulator games (as opposed to a gamepad or more arcade-y type sticks) to play games in Project64 and thus far I have not been able to get it to work. I have been able to use my mouse to control the axes, but I would like to use my stick for games like StarFox 64. The stick is one of those "plug and play" types and didnt come with any drivers or anything, and I'm using the N-rage 1.83 plugin on a PC with vista 64 bit. If anybody can help me get it working, I'd appreciate it very much .
