NEED HELP!!! using playstation controller!!!

I need help playing with a playstation controller on playstation emulator. how do i set it up so i can play with a controller. I'm not sure what emulator can use controllers but so far i have the PSXeven v 0.19 and ePSXe v1.7.0. Will either of them work with a controller? When i use psxeven in advance settings plugin, i couldn't find my controllers name listed there. it is called "TWIN PS TO PC CONVERTER". I'm using a playstation 2 dual analog controller and a playstation dual analog connected to my computer through a Hvg2 ps2 to usb converter( looks like http://bit.ly/5GzhmX). I know it works because i tried it on my assassin's creed game. can someone help me??? Thanks in advance!!!

Did your adapter require drivers? If so thats was a mistake. usb adapters should be HID ( human interface device). And yes they work.
