You are absolutely right about copyright issues preventing a better world for emulation. Also we have some designer's whims involved when building any kind of system. Especially when designers are from Japan. Believe I have worked with some of them (different field) and they have a different conception of life. What happens is when you think about yourself to be the best of the best, and then there is no other place to see and take a look for better ideas. Nevertheless, as some people in this forum are aware of, PS3 hacking has good progress and close to be accomplished. And here we go again "closed system" vs. "open systems". If Copyright and closed systems make companies more profitable, Why PC games sales up 8 times more that some consoles? A PC is an open System, you can tweak, overclock, customize and some idiot people even make illegal copies of games. What is the end result? Cheaper games when release time; forget about 50% discount after 1 year of release. And the guys still make money, why? Because there are more PCs in the World than all versions of PS, XBOX and Nintendo Consoles together. That is why I always insist, PC Gaming is cheaper at the long term. You replace your Video Card and then you are ready for next Game generation, no need to spend more money in a new system, but I will stop right there cause that is another subject. I really hope one day (even if that happen in 5 year from now) we could get a PS3 emulator if SONY does not put money on the table for that designer not to distribute it.
