    Default seperating roms

    i was wondering if there is a way to seperate the roms. i got my roms from different emulators mixed up in one folder. is there a prgrm to seperate them?

    The easiest method I can think of is by their extension. You know, files ending with .nes are NES, .smc/.smd are SNES, .n64/.v64 are N64 and so on. You might want to use this site if you need to know about file extensions.

    I would think one of the various ROM cataloging programs would be able to sort them out as well.

    But its easiest to just go by extension. You can sort by extension in windows explorer too, so then you can highlight a whole block of files and move them out that way.

    Or even from a command prompt window.. you could make directories inside the directory where they are mixed up, and move them there.

    c:\roms (your mess of files)
    cd roms
    md nes
    md snes
    md genesis
    etc..

    move *.nes c:\roms\nes, and so on and so forth.

    So there are tons of ways to do it.. find the one that makes you the most comfortable.
