FF9 HELP - game crash when enemies use Poison + freeze when use thundaga

Hie, I am playing FF9 on epsxe170, currently in disc 3 about to go to disc 4. Here are my problems:

1) My battle screen always freezes when enemies conjure Thundaga.
2) Another one is that it crashes when enemies conjure Poison with code REGIM 01 Opcode UNK PC []001a0c80] (????? @.@)

Help is really appreciated here, I have optimised the plugins (using Pete) configurations and the problems still persist. And I am going into the last league of the game now, cant afford to stop here (long story in the first few discs in avoiding enemies from summoning poison and thundaga >.<). Thanks a lot.

Have you tried an older version like 1.5.2? Like I said countless of times, I had problems when playing Square games such as Final Fantasy and Chrono Cross with newer versions.
