How do you load Code Veronica?

I downloaded res.evil-code veronica from a torrent,its filename is code veronica -selfboot.This folder does not contain any isos or bins.How can someone possibly run this game?I still can't run shenmue or any other game although i have read some tutorials,can someone post a link to a descent one so i can at last see how chankast works?
