I'm trying to remember the name of a racing game I used to play at the arcade ages ago. You raced from start to finish against a timer represented by the numerical value you had for gas/fuel. You could pick up gas icons on the track and also receive an amount depending on what place you came in. You also acquired money to upgrade your car with different types of front and rear engines for speed increase, rear spoilers for traction increase, and different kinds of tires that were good for different road types...ie. speed tires for asphault, snow tires for snow, radials for whatever they were good for, etc. These items would wear out after a few levels and you'd have to upgrade all over again. You kept going level after level until you ran out of gas before you crossed the finish line.
Does anyone recognize the game I am describing?
