One could say this is the best form of flattery.

But again, my appeals for sensibility fell on deaf ears. And the source code is not released either. One who is trustworthy has nothing to hide, as one says.........

Alright.. keep the politics OFF this forum. If Lefty wants to blacklist it that's his call to make, because this is just a content forum. This is EZ's sandbox and we don't need other peoples arguments in it.

If someone has a problem with a project, fine post your objection, link to references and don't respond to flames, just say your piece and move on.

Intelligent people will make their decisions, and if someone is stupid enough not to care what they download, that's their own fault. The community will correct itself as it always does.

But we are not here to babysit you guys every time a new post about a release is made.

Not to be rude, but the same can be said about Intelligent site administration not tolerating releases that are made without the source code when the project happens to be licensed under gpl.

There is no project here, VBA-Cloud is not a project, its a blatant Rip and resource hack of the work that we of the VBA-M team have put forth. The VBA-Cloud releases entirely disappeared for the months where we included a protection which prevented the application from running if any part of it was modified, it was only removed to allow fresh blood to take up the code and work on it.

This troll, maxcv (also known as laterz and skynet), has been noted on record to be going to changing the licensing of VBA, which had he either the source, or a clue, he would know that any piece of gpl'ed code can only be used in an equally gpl'ed project otherwise its code stealing.

But we are not here to babysit you guys every time a new post about a release is made.
Like hell you aren't. If you allow dodgy applications to be linked from your site or forum, then you are as equally to blame in their distribution as those who posted it in the first place. Pirate bay Trial anyone?

Anyhow, for the record these releases have already been discredited in the last vba-cloud thread on here with the patch mudlord provided which turns VBA-M into VBA-Cloud. and here.

    No,

Instead of bitching about site admins, go talk to the devs and encourage them to ASK us to take it down. Don't come on with a bad attitude and then insult us because we don't want to put up with constant whining in every release thread.

close source GPL forks are not unheard of, but frankly I'm not qualified to comment on whether or not its legal or illegal. If its a legal issue then don't come cry on a forum, have the original project's team e-mail a cease and desist to have the links taken down, stating why and citing legalities.

The only thing this thread is demonstrating, is how to incorrectly accomplish a simple goal. As Zach said "It's THAT simple". I do appreciate the laughs at your expense, so, it does add to the entertainment value.

I am saying this once, I am not going to argue any more, and I refuse to take sides.

    That said.....

Instead of bitching about site admins, go talk to the devs and encourage them to ASK us to take it down. Don't come on with a bad attitude and then insult us because we don't want to put up with constant whining in every release thread.
That is not going to happen. The "developer" is a troll. So, its useless asking. I don't have a bad attitude about it since it honestly makes me lul inside at why I am wasting time so people can just steal and commit GPL violations. So, if they are the death of a project, fine. There's plenty more things I can waste years on.......

but frankly I'm not qualified to comment on whether or not its legal or illegal.
It is clearly against the GPL terms. The GPL however, has never been tested in court and hasn't been tested to be legally binding, so its not a clear case.
So, while legally they can do what the heck they want for the time being, morally its a completely different case. Since the people lack morals however, thats a non issue to them, as its clear they are doing it for luls at someone else's expense.

It's THAT simple. less fucking drama
Indeed. Site ops are impartial, let the end users decide. Let news posters not give a shit about quality posts, and instead post whatever the hell they want.

Sorts itself out, in the end.

I do appreciate the laughs at your expense, so, it does add to the entertainment value.
Indeed, and bolder, more ludicrous claims can be made by maxcv, for more lols. I am still waiting on the compressor. Why don't I give you private programming tutorials. Then you can gain more skill with these awesome builds.
