need help

So I tried to download MAME regular .0129 or something like that from this site. Well it was packed with a virus or something because now I have files in 'my documents' that cant be deleted. Theres a lot of them. Also its pretty much screwed up my brand new lap top. Its deleted all of my saved pictures, and music on my lap top. Does anyone know how to reverse this or to delete the program thats done it in the 1st place? I cant find 'MAME' any where on the add/remove program list. Also my recycle bin is missing now???

This site doesn't actually host any emulators, just links to the sites that host them. Mame.net is clean and I download each version from there without issues so its possible your infection came from elsewhere. You won't find Mame in program files or your add/remove list as it doesn't install anything on your PC, you run it directly from the mame executable each time you load it.

If you've downloaded any game roms to use with mame its far more likely that any infection came from one of the rom sites you might have visited, there are lots of bad ones about for the unwary, another reason why mamedev and this site don't endorse the use of romsites. Rom sites and Porn sites are rife with malware, viruses, trojans and all sorts of other nasty stuff if your PC isn't properly protected.

As for your infection, scan your PC with HijackThis, Malware Bytes, and a reputable anti-virus to try to identify and remove the infection.
