ZSNES April Fools???

Hi,

Hoping someone can help me out here. I was just playing Chrono Trigger on ZSNES and I hit escape to pause it. A blue box was up and said something to the effect of:

Sending your game play (information?) to Nintendo central servers...

press space to continue


I pressed space and the box went away. I realized that today is April 1st and thought maybe it was some crazy april fools joke the programmers slipped in there? Anyone else seen this at all? Have I been playing Chrono Trigger for 1 too many hours? Will I ever stop asking these stupid questions? Oh... right...

Well, I figured it out... apparently ZSNES has some welcome screens with some light witicisms, this being one of them. Oh wellz.

Yea, it did... I think the message actually said "Reporting your gameplay activity to Nintendo Central Servers". I think this was an April fools thing because the screens don't show up anymore.

Others said things like, "Did you know ZSNES was programmed mostly by fish"... they had a bunch of them, some funnier than others, each appearing whenever I started it up, but not anymore. Guess I'll see more next year

I got this too. I haven't touched that emulator since. I'm all over Snes9x now

Yeah, I saw one of those messages a few years back. There's a bunch of them, but the one that sticks out in my mind was:

MIDNIGHT VAMPIRES FLEE BEFORE ZNES AND IT'S CONTROL OF GARLIC TOAST.

I set my computer's clock to April 1st and made it do it again just now. I wanted to make sure I got the wording right and sure enough it was the first one I saw.

Also on Christmas it snows while on pause and Santa flies by on his reindeer from time to time. There's probably a few more Easter eggs in there too.
