    Default Best emulator for this?

Well what Im planning to do is get an older PC and turn it into a NES/SNES game system that plays just about every NES and SNES game available. What would be the best emulator's for this? Id like it to be easy to use/navigate seeing as Id be using a controller, not a mouse.
Also does this seem like a good/practical thing to do? I mean how big of a hole in your wallet would you have getting every game. and theyd eventually break.

Something like Nestopia or FCEUltra for NES, Snes9x or Zsnes for snes, along with a front-end like Mamewah/Emulauncher/Mala/GameEx/Maximus for a gamepad navigable gamelist with screenshots.

There are pics of my emulator setup doing more or less exactly what you want to do using Mamewah in this thread http://www.gamestm.co.uk/forum/viewt...er=asc&start=0. Pics are about 6 posts down the thread.

Not sure if this predates your PM or not. If you're still having trouble post or PM again. I can sort this for you fairly quickly.

Zsnes actually already exits with the ESC key, but it closes down to its own GUI.

If you open the zsnes.cfg file in the Zsnes install folder and edit the line GUI Disable = 0 to read GUI Disable = 1 then Zsnes will exit completely when you press ESC.

well, if you'd already owned all the games, they can be freely downloaded at ** DELETED **
or any other rom site for that matter. but once again the thing here is the moral choice between breaking the law and downloading them without having owned the games or legally having basically a back up dump file of the game.

The more important thing is your link is in breach of the forum rules, and regardless of how many games you own, when you buy a game you only purchase a limited licence to use that software in the format its provided and on the platform its designed for.

So there is effectively no legal way to own and use a dumped rom, specifically where console and computer games are concerned.

Its completely illegal to distribute roms even for 'backup' purposes and its just as illegal to download them. So there is no grey area.

Its not a case of being hypocritical, afterall, we all do what we do, but its important people understand the legal implications regarding copyright material and more specifically its importance in terms of the site rules here prohibiting any discussion of or linking to sites that offer copyright material for download.

There's so much misinformation spread about, regarding the use and ownership of roms.
So just for clarification, there is no 'legal' way to do it, unless you have explicit written consent from the copyright owner allowing you to make and use a rom of their game with an emulator. That is the bottom line. Its not ok to 'delete within 24 hours', and its not OK 'for backup purposes', there is no legal basis for either statement, its basically just sh*t someone pulled out of the air.

Doesn't matter what you own, how long you've been gaming, or how much money you've spent on them over the years. Its got nothing to do with morals or ethics, simply the law and what it does and doesn't allow you to do.
