Default model 2 emulator graphics issue (see youtube video)

Hi everyone, this is my first post in the forums. I had an older extra PC lying around wondering what to do with it, and I discovered emulators, so I've been going crazy. I have MAME, NES, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, Sega Master System, Dreamcast, Atari 2600, and Future Pinball all tied together with the Maximus Arcade front end. I even cut out all the Windows loading screens, so Maximus is pretty much the first thing seen when the computer is turned on.

So things have been going pretty well until I tried loading the Nebula Model 2 emulator. As with all the other emulators, I tried loading it on my main PC first, and once I got everything working how I wanted, I loaded it on the extra PC. On the main PC, everything worked fine, but on the extra PC, I'm having graphics issues. On the static screens, everything works fine, but once motion starts, I run into problems. Since I don't really know how to explain the problems, I posted a short youtube video.

My main PC (on which model 2 runs fine) is a P4 2.4ghz, 1 GB memory, 128 MB graphics card running Windows XP. The extra PC has some sort of AMD 2ghz processer, 512 MB memory, 64 MB graphics card running Windows XP. I thought maybe this was a hardware issue, but I tried loading everything on my laptop (1.6ghz Celeron M processor, 256 MB memory, 64 MB graphics card, Windows XP) and it works fine there, so I'm thinking it's not a hardware issue. Anyone have any idea what is going on? Sorry for the long post. Thanks.

    Joe

Its either the emulator is having some kind of difficulty addressing your graphics hardware or some kind of corruption within the rom.

First port of call would be to re-install Direct-X and your graphics drivers. If that doesn't resolve the problem then check the roms inside your Daytona.zip rom and make sure all the required files are present and correct.

Thanks for the reply. One of the things I tried was installing the latest Direct-X and going through the Direct-X tests in the Direct-X dialog, and everything was OK. And the roms (it happens with all of them) were copied directly from my main PC. I will check my graphics drivers when I get home.

Just noticed you still have the cabinet set as 'Twin' on the boot screen. That should be upright. Perhaps thats the problem.
Edit: Just tried that on my setup and couldn't duplicate the error your getting so while its worth a try this probably isn't the issue.
Seems most likely its an issue with your graphics hardware if the rom is a direct copy of one that works on another system.
If your graphic driver update doesn't fix the issue then I'm out of ideas.

Thanks for the new idea, I'll give that a try too. I'm starting to think it is the graphics card. If I get really ambitious, maybe I'll take the card from my main pc and put it in the extra pc to see if that's definitely the issue.

It seems the most likely candidate for your problem.

Looks like that was what he did.. Luckily a replacement can be had pretty cheap, and might even be better than the old one. It was probably something like the RAM going bad, or for some reason the core crapped out and is unstable at the current clock speed and voltage. Either way a new card is the way to go.

Be sure and check out Newegg and you'll find a good deal.

I did confirm it was the graphics card. I found the same one that is in my main pc on ebay, so I got it and everything works fine now.
