Have problems with cheat on VBA

Hello. I'm playing Pokemon Emerald and shall use cheats from Gameshark. The cheats works, but when I shall use the cheat again my player just freezes (Not the game, but just my players). If I shall use the cheat again I must save and load the game so the cheat will work, but I willl use the cheat without to load the game EVERYTIME. Can this be fixed? (I have Torchic, Treecko, Mudkip, Treecko and Mudkip :happy: (1 Torchic, 2 Treecko's and 2 Mudkip's).
