Thread: Rock Band

    Default Rock Band

Getting a new PC that can run PS2 emulators. So how possible is it for a PS2 Emulator to run a PS2 version of Rock Band? I have the actual instruments but its Wii.

You would need a compatible input plug-in for the controllers, and then of course a method for connecting the controllers to the PC and a driver that recognises them.

I don't know if the controllers are cross compatible between platforms anyway so if the Wii controllers don't work with the PS2 there's no reason they should work any better with an emulated PS2.

The Instruments are USB so that shouldn't be a problem.

I don't see why it'd be a problem with an emulator considering its not a real PS2.

Like I said, with a compatible input plug-in then I can't see any reason why they won't work. If they are USB and send a conventional joypad signal or other form of direct input then they might be compatible.

I don't own Rock Band so don't know if the peripherals are generic across all platforms or are platform specific, if they are platform specific and send some kind of signal the PS2 doesn't decode then you will need a specific plug-in written to use them.
