I like to listen to Detroit acid stuff quite loud, and derivatives of that style. Anything with a thumping 909 and 303 is good when you're in a mindless mood.

ppk - Resurrection

and also from a different perspective, quite a lot of Queen songs are good loud.

I loves me some Built To Spill blasting through the stereo

Built To Spill - I Would Hurt A Fly
Built To Spill - Out Of Site
Built To Spill - Made-Up Dreams
Built To Spill - Untrustable / Part 2 (About Someone Else)

And Flaming Lips sound best with headphones, but the source doesn't matter that much as long as it's loud enough that you can hear every instrument, every layer.

Flaming Lips - The Soft Bulletin (entire album)
Flaming Lips - Zaireeka (entire album, requires 4 seperate cd players, best listened to with a big group of people)

Ha, that was meant to be played loud. Must put on car cd player and see the reaction i get. Not to loud as to be one of those evil biatches whose sound system sounds like its shaking the car apart with base. If only that mercedes benz fell apart on the road in front of me. That would have sooooo made my day, even to the point of ordering pizza!
