Default Help Getting ePSXe to Work

I'm using version 1.7.0 ePSXe. I've followed all of the setup and configuration instructions. However, when I try to launch ePSXe I receive an error, "application has failed to start because zlib1.dll was not found".

I don't know what else to do, i've extracted every Bios/Plugin file I was told I needed, and I am now down to the part where I need to launch the ePSXe but can't. Please help?

    Thanks,

I actually have the same problem which is why I don't use that emulator. I use psx 1.13.

Okay, well I tried downloading psx 1.13, since that's what you said worked for you, and I still got an error. This error now reads, "d3dx9_26.dll was not found". I just can't seem to win. Could it be Vista that's causing the problem?

Well, I was able to find a Emu that worked for me, PSXeven (PS7 v0.19). Now, when I download the ISO's, do I need both the BIN file and CUE file?

    http://psxemulator.gazaxian.com/
    mentions about the d3dx9_26.dll

I think you do need both the bin and cue but it should both come with the iso. Some games are just .iso which can load into the emulator and there's other file types like IMG for some reason.

/sigh a little research would have gone a long ways.

There's your fix for ePSXe 1.7.0. Next time, google your problem.

^^^ Nicely said, as for the problem with pSX, whenever you get a problem saying a .dll is missing and it has the letters "dx9" in it, it means you have to install the latest version of DirectX 9
