Thread: Final fantasy X won't run on PS1 emulator?

  1. #1

Default Final fantasy X won't run on PS1 emulator?

I've downloaded the PS2 emulator from emulator zone, and Final Fantasy X as well.

I can enter the starting screen but after that it gives me only 2 options, one option it gives me is to erase and copy data and general overview of memory cards, and the other option is for setting time, date etc.

So basically I can only choose among these 2 options, time and date setting and some other options, plus my memory cards.

And that's about it. I can't play the game at all. Anyone know anything about this at all, or maybe have a solution for the problem?

Or am I just missing something?

Thanks a lot guys and girls, I appreciate you taking the time to read this.

You can't post links to roms and Isos here. Delete the link before a moderator bans you. And do yourself a favour and read the forum rules.

As for your question; what you seem to have done so far is booting up the Bios. How have you mounted the game? Have you burned it or is it mounted on something like daemon-tools? In any case you have to configure your emulator cd/dvd plugin so that it points to the drive where you have your game.

Which emulator is it anyway? In the header you stated PS1 emulator but I take it that's wrong?

Yes the title of my thread reads PS1, but it's supposed to be PS2, sorry.

Also my apologies for linking that rom site as well, I was aware of the rules of this forum because I actually did read them, but I forgot I shouldn't post links. I'll delete it right away. My bad guys, sorry.

I haven't heard of the expression "mounting the game" before, what does it mean exactly? As for daemon tools no I do not use it.

Some people here are dumb The People in charge here are to easy on people they allways get warnings about the rules I see the same names pop up and most of us are allways telling them you are breaking the rules it gets alittle old.

I think they should only get 2 warnings no more.

Ok, playstation games are not roms. They are copys of the disc and need to be played like a real disc. To do that you need a virtual CD-ROM. That's what a program like Daemon-tools does.

    Try these links:
    http://www.disc-tools.com/download/daemon+sptd+md5sum
    http://www.daemon-help.com/general_use_lite.html

However, the PCSX2 is able to run ISO without mounting it in DT. You just need to configure yout CDVDRom in the Config menu. I don't know which one is easier for you. Probably the last one.
