    Default Nintendo Gamecube Emulator Problem

Hi guys, I hope you can help me with my problems.

    First I downloaded:

    - Dolphin 1.03
    - Dolwin 010

And then I started downloading the .torrent Path of Radiance. I'm not being illegally, since I own the game. I just happened to have broken it. xD

When the download was completed, this was inside of it:

    - WinRaR files sc-fep.r00 until sc-fep.r20
    - sc-fep.rar
    - sc-fep.nfo
    - sc-fep.sfv

I didn't knew what to do with it, so I started experimenting with it. I copied the files to another map, and renamed the .r?? files to .r??.000 - .r??.001. Then after renaming them all, I used HJ-split to make one .rar file of it and unpacked that one.

    --> sc-fep.gcm
When inserting sc-fep.gcm into Dolwin the screen gets green and froze.
When using Dolphin the program crashes. So I guess this isn't the right thing.

What should I do to use this files, to let FE Path of Radiance work on my emulators? Without buying anything.

(Yes, I know about the grammar mistakes, English isn't my first language.)

First of all you really shouldn't rename the files. Use WinRAR to extract the game from sc-fep.rar.

Second, does your computer meet the minimum requirements for using Dolphin?

I know renaming the files isn't oke, but it was the easiest way to unpack all .rar's in a short time.

I'm using a Vaio laptop - Windows XP. I guess that's not the problem.

What are your exact com specs?
What's your OS? Dolphin only works with 64.

and renaming the files really isn't that bad, the file is still the same. As long as you don't change the file type.

I don't know how to find those. I guess my pc is good for it. xD Is that really necessary?

On the site of Emulator-zone, it says that it's compatible with GameCube.

Yes, it's necessary. If your OS isn't 64 bit you arn't gonna be playing any GC games. and even if it is 64 bit if you only have a single core processor or an old graphics card you still won't be playing anything.

Odds are, if you don't know what's in your computer it's not good enough.

It seems I'm using 32 bit. Too bad.

Is there any other way? Like using a blank cd or maybe using the program on my xbox?

Not quite true. I play on Win XP 32-bit. According to the developers it could even work on W98 as well. However, the latest PRIVATE BETA version 1.03.2 requires a 64bit operating system (either Windows XP64 or Vista64) and has dual core support.

So, make sure you use 1.03 version and *not* 1.03.2. I haven't found any info yet on wether the 1.03 version utilizes dual core processors or not yet. The system requirements just state "fast processor", but if it has support for Dual-core you won't have much luck with a single core. Anyway, laptops are generally not powerful enough to run emulators from the last generation of consoles unless it's a new expensive powerhorse.

Also, messing with file extensions on compressed files have been known to occasionally mess up archives. Not all the time, but the best advice is not to mess around with it when it's not necessary.

    sigh......
For the emu to work fast on 32-bit windows you need:
    -at least 2gb of ram
    -good cpu(dual-core better)
    -and a good graphic card

    ...you can try this:
    download this http://www.xtemu.com/index.php?ind=d..._view&iden=134

and if you have a crappy graphic card and or the plugin pad doesn't work download this into the emu folder:

http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dl...shtml?d3dx9_39 (to be able to use dolphin's dx9 plugin)

    http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dl...html?xinput1_3 (for the pad plugin)
