HELP! I don't know whats going on?

Ok, so recently I had a craving to play Legend Of Dragoon. I put my CD in my drive and everything was fine. I saved and closed the emulator. I came back the next day to find my data wasen't there. I went to go check in my BIOS and I can't move around. Ive been checking most of my games and the controller just is frozen. Keep in mind that I am using a PS1 Dualshock controller that is in my USB adapter. I check my settings for it on my computer and it is sensing it and everything. I reset my input settings on EPSXe and its fine. Whats going on?
