Default Stupid Question, but meh, I'm an ignorant person.

If I were to downlaod a PS2 emulator, would it be able to play PS1 games as well, since the real deal can do so? And would I need a PS controller in order to use the emulator?

EPSXE is a really good emulator for PSX games. Also your question isn't a stupid one. If your computer just won't play PSX or PS2 emulators. You other options are to get PS2 or 60/90 gig PS3. The 80 gig PS3 is fully PSX/PS2 backwards compatable. Good luck!

The PS2 emulators out there are really hardware intensive. That means that unless you have a really powerful processor (3ghz and up) you probably won't get playable speeds with a PS2 emulator. If you want to play PSX games, try ePSXe. If you don't understand the plug-in system, try the emulator called psX.

If you don't understand the plug-in system with EPSXE we can kinda help you out. There is a guide here that tells you step by step on how to set up ePSXE, so you shouldn't have a problem there. Good luck again!
