Chrono Cross...again

I know people have posted this before and I did do the noauto tag on a shortcut but something else really bothers me. Whenever I go to any sort of menu in the game, the game slows down. I can hear it in the music and see it when i move and stuff? why is this happening and how can i fix this? Also it sometimes i guess...lags during loading screens and cutscenes but i know i see that everywhere. I was just wondering if I could fix the menu problem?

I use The P.E.Op.S. Soft Driver 1.17 (it makes the rest of my games run smoother and without problems)
I use the Eternal SPU plugin

USE NEW VERSION THE EPSXE AND HAVE A GOOD PC OR NOT WORKING.

did you have to use caps?

anyways it still is the same, the music and game slows down at menus...

Could be your PC specs is the cause of it. However did you try with these below?

Graphic Plugin : Pete's OpenGL or any Pete's plugins
Sound Plugin : Eternal SPU plugin
