Thread: Problem with ePSXe- it never finishes opening!

    Default Problem with ePSXe- it never finishes opening!

    I downloaded it correctly, followed the instructions in the help thread. I've got the BIOs file and the game ISO too.

    The problem is, when, after configuration, I boot ePSXE, the computer seems to be running it, but the screen goes into a lower resolution mode and the thing never loads!

    My comp specs are 512 MB RAM, and a 1.4 GHz processor. The graphics card is ancient, but good enough to run some games like Tomb Raider: Andgel of Darkness, which was an early PS2/PC game.

    Please help. Thanks a ton.

    Try the following:

    1. Try another game like that Tomb Raider game to make sure the emulator is actually working, not the ISO

    2. Look at the system processes, if you see more than one ePSXe then the extra processes might slow it down to produce the graphics.

    4. Check if the game is compatible. ALMOST all games are compatible with it ePSXe.

    3. Redownload/Remake the ISO file, it is possible it is corrupt.

    4. Redownload/Import the BIOS file.

    5. Redownload ePSXe

    6. Get a better computer

    It is most likely the game can't run on your computer but try these to make sure.

    Wrong answer. You should search somewhere before you give the correct answer.

    According to ePSXe site:

    ePSXe's stated system requirements are:[4]

    * Processor: Pentium 200 MHz, recommended 1 GHz.
    * RAM: 256 MB RAM, recommended 512 MB RAM.
    * Graphics card: 3D graphics card needed with support for OpenGL or DirectX.
    * Operating system: Windows: 9x (95, or 98/98SE), NT (XP, 2000, Vista, etc) -- GNU/Linux (any distro will do)
    * CD-ROM: 16x or faster (optional)

    If the computer just meets the minimum system requirements, ePSXe will emulate games roughly, averaging from about 60% to 100% full speed depending on plugins are used and how high the settings are on them
    His computer is fine but maybe his video is not good enough for some games.

    @FifthWarrior,

    try to update your video card, thought.

    I never trust those requirements. I could run a few games on a low spec computer.

    Also, the video card isn't really a big deal unless it is something REALLY old like Voodoo cards.

    Then again, you are right, the card might be the prob
