MAME HELP2

I have MAME32b.114. Downloaded about eight games. Not many work but i can hopefully get my favorites to play. Anyways how do i get a gamepad to work with MAME? I can't get a keyboard or gamepad to work. Also the sound is very skippy do i need to dl more files for this thing? I am running this with my computer which is well capable of handling MAME.

As mentioned in your other thread you would be best to download the latest version of MameUI which comes with a mouse driven interface. In order for game roms to work, they must:

Be compatible with the version of mame you are using. Many older roms won't work with newer versions of mame so you need to find a source for up to date roms.

Be the parent rom or have the parent rom present. Many games have different variants and clones. Mame will have a single main (or parent) version that contains all the required files and the other versions or clones just contain the few files that are different.

Have the relevant bios rom in the rom folder if its required. Google for mame bios roms or whatever to find a list of the different arcade systems that require one in mame or check out the Maws homepage.

Get the lastest MAME yes. I did and you have to compile it. I have no clue how to compile that sort of thing. The only problem i have with Mortal Kombat 3 is the sound is very bad and no gamepad compatibilty.

Alright got MAMEUI32. I got the games to work since it came with bios and i downloaded some. Still can't get my gamepad to work. What do i do?

I finally figured out how to fully input controls with my game pad for each game in MAMEUI32. Thanks to those that gave advice. Very easy interface to use. I like it.

Great that you got it resolve the problem but you are not new here. The edit button will save your time instead of double or triple posts.

Well the reason I made triple post was cause no one was answering my question. I usually don't do that unless no one is answering. I know gotta be patient. Believe me I am learning to.
