1964 troubleshooting

I use 1964 (nintendo 64 emulator) and I have been having an issue with it, it wont run anything. I can start up a rom and it will play for a few seconds and then the error message "7000D6C0: exception in emulation thread" pops up and
shuts down the emulator, any thoughts?

What file extension is it? 7-zip folders don't go well with 1964. That's all I know!
