I havent used mame for a few years now but i rember playing king of fighters and thinking this looks really blocky i dnt remember it looking like this! The only way it looked decent was running it in a really small window but full screen looked terrible will an arcadevga conected to a scart tv make it look good?

an arcadevga card is for easy plug and play connecting with an actual arcade monitor, like in a MAME cabinet. It would be a waste of money to use it on a TV.

If you just want to play on a TV for comfort, ie sitting on the couch, just get a normal video card with TV out, or if you have a nice HDTV get one with DVI out.

The graphics look blocky because that is how they really look, seeing it on a high resolution screen like a computer monitor just makes it more clear so the jaggies and blocks are more noticeable. These games were intended to be played on an arcade monitor that wouldn't pick up stuff like that. Try using some of the different filters that are out there in builds like Advance MAME and I believe MAME FX. They recreate the look of the arcade monitor.

I personally like the pixels LOL I play on a 46" tv with no filters so I can see the game pixel for pixel
