Default A slight problem with game using ePSXe

I have become the next person to ask about a problem with FFXII. This could be a problem with the emulator, with the game itself, or me just because I tend to overlook and ignore things.

During battles none of the commands are shown and the area is black.
Here is an image of my problem: http://img212.imageshack.us/my.php?image=ff7probab0.jpg

Thanks to a greedy little ex-boyfriend I no longer have this physical game so I downloaded it as a torrent. Each disk is seperated into four different files. IMG, SUB, CUE, and CCD. I can use the IMG file and it plays perfectly fine except I am lacking the battle commands. All of the function is there in that i can attack and stuff.

    Any advice?

to keep things safe, I'd suggest you mount the image with daemon tools [or any other cd\dvd emulator]

about the battle menus, as I can recall it's something about 'flipping' or something experimental flipping, [oh wait that was for lewpy's plugin which was for Glide cards]

you can also try seeting the option to 'NICE'
or off screen drawing from 2 to 3, whichever works for you.

at least these settings worked for me

    Code:
    Plugin: Pete's OpenGL Driver
    Author: Pete Bernert

    Resolution/Color:
    - 640x480 Window mode
[32 Bit]- Keep psx aspect ratio: off

    Textures:
    - R8G8B8A8
    - Filtering: 5
    - Hi-Res textures: 0
    - VRam size: 32 MBytes

    Framerate:
    - FPS limitation: on
    - Frame skipping: off
    - FPS limit: 65

    Compatibility:
    - Offscreen drawing: 3
    - Framebuffer texture: 2
    - Framebuffer access: 0
    - Alpha multipass: on
    - Mask bit: on
    - Advanced blending: on

    Misc:
    - Scanlines: off
    - Line mode: off
    - Unfiltered FB: on
    - 15 bit FB: off
    - Dithering: off
    - Screen smoothing: off
    - Screen cushion: off
    - Game fixes: on [00000001] << FF7 Battle Cursor| battle Swirl
Thanks to a greedy little ex-boyfriend
:P guess what, you just proved that you can do things without him

Thank you so much! You have helped a ton!

Sorry for the late reply but it wasnt working on my laptop and I was trying to tweak things a little but that didnt work either. So, I transfered everything to my desktop and then it worked fine. My graphics card in the laptop must not be up to par.

I'm amazed my pc can handle it. I've had the thing for atleast 4 years and I havent used it in the past year and a half because the lp was better at most things.

    Again, thank you so much!

Glad to see you're able to get what you want

Post the Video Chip on your Laptop, for laptops that has lower integrated graphics, its always better just to run on safe graphics software mode.
\\either way, it still should work pretty well.

use Peops Soft GPU for that
it should work well, also I suggest you give epsxe, psxeven and xebra\arbex a try.

I'm amazed my pc can handle it. I've had the thing for atleast 4 years and I havent used it in the past year and a half because the lp was better at most things.
of course! ff9 ran pretty well on my old p2 550 mhz PC with some old Video Card and a few hundred mb's of RAM.

    Sorry for the late reply
there is no need to apologize, and you are welcome, Novaleigh!

    Cheers and Good luck
