MAME Button Customizing

Hello,

I just recently got my 2 player console put together using an iPac 2 and an assortment of buttons and so forth.. I tested it it works fine in standard controller mode.. Now the layout of the buttons would give me the capability to have dedicated buttons for Escape and Pause. However these are connected to Button 8 on the iPac on the player 1 and player 2 sides..

Can this be configured within MAME32 or is it best to try and program the iPac to use these buttons.. Thanks..

to change pause and some other buttons, hit tab while running a game and go to input general/user interface and set it for whatever you want. I have pause set to my joypad start button and use the Prt Scr button for snaps. LOL its right next to the default key F12 but for some reason I always have set it to that :P

**edit** the one that says "UI cancel" exits the games...

Once set does that always stay for all the games or just the one you're playing currently.. Thanks for the info..

the general settings cover all the games.

Interesting. I was thinking of using Xpadder for this.

Hey JP thanks for the info, Setup my escape and pause keys and am good to go..
