    Default N64 Emulation Multiplayer Problem

I'm quite new to the world of emulation, so don't get mad at me if this is a simple question. I've been playing 007 Goldeneye on Project 64, but the multiplayer option is always faded out. I have controls set up for two players in the options (but some use the same buttons, I was just testing wheter you needed to set up two players for it to work), although both use the keyboard (I'm going to get a controller in a day or two). Is it a problem with the ROM, the emulator, or do I just need a controller?

Playing multiplayer games with a keyboard is a serious pain in the ass, so I recommend using at least one keyboard and one gamepad, or even better, two gamepads. To fix the faded out options, make sure Player 2 controller is enabled in the controller plugins since they're turned off by default.
