Need Help fast Please.

Hello I just downloaded the pokemon games and emulator and Visual boy advance. On leaf green and fire red it says something about a 1sm sub ciruct board is not installed. On sapphire and ruby it says "The internal batery has run dry. The game can be played." But when i hit space or enter nothing happens.
On blue, red yellow i can get all the way t the first sentence with the professor then if i hit space enter or next it acts locked up. Last but not least on Gold and sliver it makes it to a help system then says press a for next and acts locked up. Any help on how to get these to work would be great. It might just be i not hitting the right button or something.
