Default Running GBC / GBA at specific speed?

    Hi!
I used to play old GBC or GBA RPG games at increased speed, because they were too boring at 100%. As time progressed, my hardware got better, so when I activate "Speed" now, it usually goes beyond 1000% percent, which is too high.

I usually used Visual Boy / Visual Boy Advance. Is there a way to set up these emulators or is there a different emulator where the game speed can be set to a specific value, such as 400% or something?
I've tried various things so far, for example slowing down my PC with CPU-Killer, which was successful but also caused bad performance...
Let me know if you have any ideas...

VBA should have clearly marked throttle options somewhere abouts in the menus...

Options > Frame Skip. you can set a custom number.. set your frameskip to 0 or another low number can also help out in keeping your frames close to consistent
