Set the sve type to Flash 512kbits, and it should. Altough after the 5th badge, you won't be able to progress(The next city has fog, an area too foggy for any emulator).

you can continue you game after the 5th badge
First you need to have Hidden Machine Fog
Teach it to one of your pokemon (Flying one)
Use it and the fog will disppear in a minute
