Saving on Pokemon FireRed

Does anyone know of a detailed FAQ on saving on Pokemon FireRed? I've read a few of the forums on the matter, but none of that has allowed me to save. I have Visualboy 1.7.2 and my save options are set to SRAM and Flash 128 k.

I need to save so that I can trade with myself to get an Alakazam (oh, how I long for thee...).

Help, anyone?

well if u have vba then it should be easy to save al u have to to do is look at the place at the top left of the vba box and go into file... then all u have to do is go to save game and click slot #1.
