According to Gekko's website, the project is delayed because the developer is a dad now (you know, the responsibilities of maintaining a baby).

- heck now that dedication, way to go DAD!'m the main dev at the moment with a baby now but I still find time to hunt down bugs and fix flaws (heck I was dev'ing at the hospital)
