Default AMD AM2 / core duo

Wondering, for emulation only!!! Lots of new emulators take advantage of the core duo. Does the core duo have anything over the AMD AM2 thats gives it an advantage. Or will the AMD AM2 give you the same bank for the buck as far as most emulators go. That is matching speeds. - And is a athlon fx-74 for example any better( just because its 4 core dosent mean emulator can take advantage of it, right?)

Regarding bang per buck, Core 2 Duo processors offer more performance than the AMD X2 chips, however that's negated fairly quickly since LGA775 motherboards are more expensive (but if you overclock, Intel wins by a huge margin).

I'm not sure how many emulators are multithreaded, so it really depends on which emulator you're using as to how much performance over single core you get. I do know that PCSX2 is multithreaded, so performance greatly increases with more than one core.
I hate all of you, especially donkeyknob.
