I hate all of you, especially donkeyknob.
How about checking other things first? Like check if you have sound or CDDA, XA etc disabled in the epsxe settings. Maybe you need some other plugin like Eternal SPU. May be you have Null Sound Driver selected. :P
Or may be, there is no sound... :lol: .
Also keep in mind that if you burnt the disc(s) from downloaded ISOs they may have been incomplete and simply missing the music/sound. In that case... there would be no fix.

hell i music worked on the epxe emulator and my gueses are that the music is just lagging..
.....i like drawing and stuff..............
