Default Nesticle graphics question (New Thread)

When I try to open several ROMs on Nesticle, I often find that the graphics seem to not work properly. For example, on my Super Metroid ROM, when I first land on Planet Zebes and it is raining, instead of seeing raindrops coming down, there is a large black screen that is scrolling down with small openings now and then. I seem to remember having this problem before when I first had Nesticle (I had deleted it a long time ago and just recently restored it), and I seem to recal that I was told to press a key and immediately the graphics were repaired.

OK this is not a solution, but why do you use Nestical? It's an old outdated emulator, rather use Nestopia to play your NES roms.

I'd guess the games use mappers that are not fully emulated. you can try scroll fix 1 or 2 or flip mirroring in the settings tab. super metroid is a snes game.

The ZIF socket used by the nes was a serious problem for both the end user and nintendo, the famicom was more durable and had a overall better design. The US design was later reworked as a top loader only a few years before it was officially discontinued by Nintendo in the mid-90s.

The lasting legacy is its speed; all you need for full speed emulation is a 486 w/8mb memory. the emulator supports around 15 mappers and only around half are fully emulated.

I personally prefer VirtuaNES. Nestopia is most popular but I never liked it at all. I like VirtuaNES because I love JAPAN version of Famicom design and very strong machine. The USA version was SO UGLY and weak machine.
Nestopia, the main reason for this is the precise timing and support for 201 mappers, its the most accurate and compatible nes/famicom emulator. VirtuaNES supports around 150 mappers; However the unofficial version of VirtuaNES emulates a few mappers Nestopia doesn’t (#176 & #177) and for this reason I also use VirtuaNES at times (the ch.vlp can be replaced w/english.vlp).

This thread has been cleaned up and the old thread removed.

Just so it is clear, in the future. If people cannot live with the outcome of their discussions with other members on this forum, DON'T post in threads.

Likewise, it is NOT going to earn you favor in the community to go back later and edit your replies out, and change others to try and save face on a situation. I frown harshly upon this kind of manipulation, and I will leave those kinds of threads locked but viewable to the public in the future. The community will make their own judgments regarding that type of behavior.

I just happened to have accidentally deleted the entire thread on accident this time.

Everyone has been warned. Do not reply to this post, please continue on with the current thread topic ONLY.
