    hello seether9111,

I believe you are going to need at least 400mhz Cpu. If computer is that outdated you may want to use E}|{ Video Plugin but , it's not that compatible with alot of games.

thanks for the reply. my cpu is 2 mos old, bought new from best buy.it has celeron m processor, that runs @ 1.6 ghz.i have had zero problems playing GTA3 and VICE CITY(surprised the hell outta me!)so i guess if 1.6 ghz is more than 400 mhz, i should be ok then??

Yup a gigga is bigger than a mega so 1.6ghz pnwz 400mhz as those hackery types would say.

So if you don't mind me throwing in a question in your topic, if the ps2 GTA 3 and Vice City works fine on the above comp will the PC version of GTA:SA work??

If you have this version either PC or PS could you try it and tell me thanks.
Do you ever think you might be taking things just a little bit too seriously?

havent tried san andreas on my pc.both gta3 and vice city work perfectly, and i do believe they have better graphics than their ps2 counterpartsi would guess that san andreas would also work too, but not 100% sure?? BTW both of these games are no-cd cracks, meaning that u dont need a cd in the drive to play.both are available for download.

1.6 GHz = 1,600 MHz, so yeah, your processor is 4 times faster than the required to play PlayStation games. However, Celeron processors are not optimized enough to run heavy processes such as games. For example, if a game requires 1.6 GHz as a minimum, maybe you require a 2 GHz Celeron processor.

my cpu runs gta3 and vice city fine, and I am sure that the processor requirements are reasonabally high for these games. In other words, I dont think the celeron processor is as bad as you usually hear.
BTW, whats the difference between celeron, celeron d, and celeron m??
    thanks.

All I know about Celeron D is that it has faster clock speed (more than 3 GHz) and has L1 and L2 cache. Celeron M are for laptops.

I never said a Celeron is bad. I meant those games you mention run better on a Pentium 4 than a Celeron.

I have gateway laptop from best buy.it has celeron m inside, they told me it wouldnt play any sort of game, but I have really had no trouble at all playing all my games.only thing is memory, 512 mb ram.
I suppose even though my cpu plays game decently, you are right by saying that it would play even better on faster processor.thanks for the help.

That's obvious, but that's not what I mean. Let's compare two processors (Pentium 4 and Celeron), both at 2 GHz. In this case, Pentium 4 whips Celeron's ass for sure, because it's indeed faster, despite of having the same clock speed.
