PSX Mem Card Saves on Emulator?

I've got an Action Replay Max which lets me copy memory card saves from my real PS2 onto USB stick.

Can I somehow use this to copy my PSX saves and hex edit them to work with the pSX emulator (http://psxemulator.gazaxian.com/) or ePSXe?

EDIT - I should add that I don't have a modchip and the Action Replay Max can copy PS2 save files to USB stick in *.max format only.

I just tried copying a save from PSX card to PS2 card, and AR registers it as corrupt data

Only dexdrive saves can be converted. Get yourself a Dexdrive, they're like $12.
