you mean vista ultimate?
And this is not the proper forum... This will be moved to the Web/Technology forum
Yes, I meant ultimate...![]()
That's the main reason I'm still using Windows XP.
Judging by how you worded your intro message, I say you have a computer that is not handling your specs very well. What are they?
I have Vista and haven't had that much trouble. All my peripherals work fine, broadband's fine and no issues with most software.
Old games however it's not much use but then how well does your Dreamcast play Master System games? Just because Vista isn't very backwards compatible doesn't mean it should be written off from the get go. After all how compatible was 95 and 3.1? And which was better? Do I like rehtorical questions?
I can't accurately speak to 3.1's DOS performance, but I had no issues running anything on 95/98 that 3.1 could do on my 386/486.
That being said. Depending on the needs of the users, backwards compatability IS important.
Now to a company like MS, who dominates the OS Market, maybe not so much. But anyone with a brain knows that if you cut off Legacy support for your customers and they can burn you, they WILL. And this isn't something that can be technically argued, such as cutting off DOS support and rewriting the OS to boot itself, this is simple Windows API compatability.
Not that it would happen to MS, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't consider such things.
