KAISY: i had the same problem before, but maybe i can help you:
1 - choose the game, like before;
2 - you will get that screen error;
3 - on menu, click on 'ZX Spectrum'... on submenu click on...

finally i'm working with Spectrum... i changed the options for 48K-128... that's why, now i can load the Spectrum roms...

the problem that i can see is just:
1 - Sega Saturn is slow... and you had seen these... maybe theres another way to control...

i know the structure accept functions, but it's a good practice doing it?

i don't understand how can i start using or running a rom with RetroArch.

when i changed the mail i getted the notification mail fast... so was a normal delay?

after 1hour(more or less) i geted the mail... normaly i get problems, from some forums, because the hotmail can't recive them.
the problem seems resolved, but i will change my Perfil mail for test...

i'm learning how use the BizHawk emulator, but i'm getting some problems:
1 - the Sega Saturn seems slow;
2 - i can't play Spectrum games.. i choose the game\rom, but i get the Spectrum screen...

normaly i use the hotmail and not gmail...
when i registed, i use the hotmail, but i didn't recived the Activation Mail... so i used the gmail, and i recived.... why these happens?
