Overall Forum Rules
1. Do not ask for, offer or supply materials that
are considered illegal
We do not permit discussions about getting any illegal materials, such
as Ripped Music CDs(MP3 etc), Ripped Movies(Divx etc), ROMs, ISOs or
Warez. Threads which break this rule will be either closed or simply
deleted and the thread creator will be dealt with accordingly.
2. Not Safe For Work("NSFW") content
NSFW is defined as anything that most people would not want to be seen
by their bosses, parents or teachers. Do not post links to content that
is considered NSFW. This rule applies to signatures(text and images)
and user avatars as well.
This place is geared toward the PG rating. Meaning, that there are
children that post here as well as adults.
- Do not post images of sexual acts for any kind or images
containing nudity that can be considered inappropriate for minors.
- Signatures and avatars should not contain any sexually
"suggestive" images as both occur site-wide. There is a thin line
between that and "ecchi", try not to cross it.
- Do not post images of explicit real-life violence
3. Flaming, Trolling & Baiting
The use of insults that are meant to annoy, harass or insult
members(flaming) is not allowed. Failure to comply to a Moderator's
warning regarding the use of profanity could lead to a permanent ban.
Hate posts or posts specifically designed to provoke a negative
response from someone (baiting) for fun or otherwise are not allowed so
try to be tolerant, understanding and respectful of other people's
point of view. Registering an alternative ID for the sole purpose of
creating problems on the forums(trolling) will only cause the new
account to be banned immediately and permanently. The primary account
holder may be banned as well.
Actions or posts meant to harm(defame, insult, bash etc) the site,
affiliates or any entities associated with us will not be permitted.
4. Thread Bashing & Off Topic
There will be some posts or threads in the forum that you may not like.
If you dislike somebody's thread or some of the people participating in
the discussion simply don't bother reading it. Posting in it with the
sole purpose of having it closed(bashing) will not be tolerated.
Try to stay close to the original topic of a certain thread as much as
you can. If you wish to talk about something else make a new topic, do
not use an existing one(don't make it Off Topic).
5. Do not use more than one member account at the
Use only one user account. If you want a different username please
contact an Administrator to request a name change. Making more than one
accounts to "have fun" will result into a ban as well as making a new
account to bypass a ban. Unauthorized multiple accounts will be closed
at once when found.
If you need a new account badly for a specific reason then feel free to
contact an Administrator about your situation.
6. Do not Spam
SPAM - Stupid Pointless Annoying
Messages - We simply don't like it. There is not
need to reply to every single post. If you only have one thing to say,
explain and expand it, fill it with meaning and substance.
Members who register and immediately start posting spam links will be
banned. Army building spam is not allowed as well. Below is a list of
examples of topics that we consider as being spam:
- User posted advertisements
- Scams or cons
- Multiple posts & threads to promote a single
subject or to get a solution to their problem faster.
- Hostile advertising.
Introduction To The Reputation System
What is the reputation system?
User Reputation is a simple form rating whose basis comes from the
opinions of all of the forum users that choose take part in it. Some
people see it as a harmless toy and others as a useful tool on getting
feedback regarding the value of their posts.
What will something good/bad happen based on my reputation
I'm afraid not. As I already said the reputation system is only meant
to provide feedback and nothing more. There are no hidden prizes and
the losers will not vanish into oblivion.
How does it work?
Each new user starts with 10 reputation points. The points are managed
by the forum and need no care from the user. You can see your
respective good/bad reputation by clicking on the user CP while having
reputation enabled or by clicking the little "scale" icon in one of
your posts(that will display the reputation comments for that specific
Users gain and lose reputation based on how their posts are
scored(negative or positive) by other forum users. Users with the
ability to alter reputation, will either give or take aways points by
approving or disapproving a post. At most of the time, your reputation
will go up or down 1 point when evaluated by most users. Users with
higher reputations can affect it more, depending on how high their
reputation level is.
How can I tell what my reputation power is?
You reputation power depends on several factors:
The higher or lower your reputation power is the bigger the change on a
members reputation level will be because of your rating.
- You gain one point of power for a certain number of days
you have been registered.
- You gain one point of power for a certain amount of posts
you have made.
- You gain one power point each time a certain amount of
reputation points is received.
What are these dots shown at each post?
These dots represent your reputation level:
Can I disable my reputation?
- A gray dot means that you have a reputation of exactly zero.
- A red dot for a reputation below zero.
- A green dot for a reputation of 1 or above.
- A black dot will appear if you choose to hide reputation.
- A white dot next to a comment means that the person that
rated you did not have enough power to change your level at that time.
- More than one red/green dots will appear based on how high
or low your level is.
If you want to hide reputation, simply go to you user CP, click
options, and choose to hide your reputation. However, hiding your
reputation does not mean switching it off, It just makes it impossible
for fellow users to see your title & level.
How do I rate a post?
Underneath each person's avatar you will find a scale button. All you
have to do is click it and fill in the form in the new window.
The whole point of this system is to provide anonymous feedback for the
value of your posts. For that reason and to avoid unnecessary flame
wars you can not see the name of the person that posted a comment. If
you find that you don't like the comments people are writing simply
hide your reputation and let it go. Nobody can judge for having the
reputation system hidden.
Abuse Of The Reputation System
Given the nature of this system some people are bound to use it in an
improper manner. That means that you might receive insults or negative
feedback regarding your posts. Even though we encourage people not to
take such comments seriously you are still free to report it to a
Any reports about abuse can and will be treated according to the
severity each situation. In order to report abuse we recommend the use
of the Private Feedback forum and the
Private Messaging system. Please don't report every little thing as an
abuse as that would be an overkill.
But I don't like this whole reputation thing, all I get is
If you don't like the reputation system then you can simply disable the
system in the way previously mentioned and be done with it. There is no
real need to be annoyed about it. As always you don't have to take the
comments there seriously.
Use it wisely
As a final note we would like to ask everyone to use this system
wisely. Use it to reward somebody for a useful post(positive) or to
correct a problem/mistake(negative) and never for attacking or
All of the forum rules apply to the reputation system as well.
1. User Bans
Banned users will see a screen with information as soon as they log in.
Both temporary and permanently banned users have no access to any
Creating a new account to bypass a ban will only lead to a new ban. It
does not matter what you did to get the original ban or how long ago
2. Private Feedback
To further the need of interaction in a broader sense we have
established the Private Feedback forum. This is a special section of
the forum where you will only be allowed to see the threads that you
start. The only other person able to see them will be forum moderators
but no members. This is done to loosen the possible chaos a private
message could do by allowing a form of structured discussion.
3. Avatar-Signature Guidelines
Signatures or avatars may be removed with no warning if deemed
inappropriate or offensive. Here are some guidelines:
4. Brief overview of Social Groups.
- Use acceptable content. Any content that is found to be
inappropriate or insulting will be removed.
- Keep the combined maximum image size at reasonable file
size. Some users still have bandwidth issues.
- You may use text in your signature.
If you have a problem with the person running a Social Group or with
the people in it which falls into a category other than flaming,
harassment or otherwise not affected by general forum rules please
report it at once.
- Groups can be public, invite only or moderated based on the
desire of the creator.
- Group creator is also given limited moderation abilities
for that group.
- Forum staff is able to moderate content so ask help if
- Forum rules apply in the Social Groups.
- Forum staff member may at any given time end a group if
Standard rules apply to the blogs as well. We offer a limited array of
categories that include emulators, games and computer technology in
general. If you wish to write about how you did at school
today(example!) then one of the many free blog hosts may be for you!
