Whats up with the rules???

How come ROMS, ISOs, BIOS and other stuff (what is extremely hard to find these days) illegal? I mean can't I ask for a simple Batman file for the Nintendo on this site since they have it on other sites. This suppose to be a site for gamers right? I mean if its so much of a problem why not sell what ever it is you need for a good profit then give whatever percentage to certain companies for what they might want. Everything can be bought with the right price these days, why not Roms and ISOs?

Please give good answers if they are any

Because the companies who own the rights to the games don't want to continue to sell them, even if they'd be making money on something as simple as a rom.
