Is there a way to plug a genesis control pad into the computer serial port, to use on an emulatorm, as i've tried plugging it in and it fits in nicely, but nothing happens.

Is there a way to plug a genesis control pad into the computer serial port, to use on an emulatorm, as i've tried plugging it in and it fits in nicely, but nothing happens.
You'd probably have to build some kind of adaptor for the joystick port, or find serial port drivers (which would likely have to be custom and I doubt they exist ) . I've never heard of a controller working off the serial port. If it registered at all it would likely register as a mouse or something.
You can make an parallel port adapter, look here :cool:
I don't think if there're still, if ever, USB genesis pad adaptors btw
