Converting ROMS

Is it possible to get ROM files i.e. .dsk files for the Amstrad CPC and record them to cassetes to work with a real Amstrad CPC. I think I read about something that did that on eBay but I'm not sure. Does such a piece of kit exist and if so where can I buy it from. I'm not asking for roms just if this is possible.
