Did anyone figure out how to prevent Snes9x from hibernating?

I have this issue most of the time when using this emulator, despite the gamepad input working properly, this emulator doesn't prevent the computer from hibernating, my thinkpad laptop will dim the screen if no input activity is detected, then it will enter sleep mode. Thats when I'm already playing a game with this emulator, so i have to press a random key or touch the touchpad or trackpoint or something. My only work-arounds are fiddling with USB inputs on windows or disable sleep mode completely in windows.
