classicboy on android controller issues

New here and, also, just starting with emulation as well.

Am using Classicboy on an old HTC One M7 as I can use it and not mess up my current phone! I find that, barring Conner and a few known problem games most of its emulators are pretty good. It all works great except touch screen controls sucking badly so I tried using a PS4 pad instead. It pairs via BT effortlessly but Classic Boy just will not play ball.

There is no profile for a DS4 in the mapping section of advanced options, no default works and most annoying of all the custom mapping just won't work either. The d pad and sticks being the issue.

Should I change emulators, change phone or buy a new pad? Where could I find help for this? Cheers for any aid.
