Issue with video?

So I installed epsxe. Everything's running smoothly, but certain things aren't appearing in game. The only games I've added so far are Spyro 3 and Ape Escape, but they both have the same problem. I've tried messing with off-screen drawing, because that's seemed to fix similar problems for others, but it hasn't helped me. I also messed with sprites to see if that would help, but it hasn't. Unfortunately, I can't attach pictures to further explain what's going on, but is there any ideas on what my problem could be?
