i am a newbie. please help.

i am a newbie at emulators, sir. and i'm playing final fantasy 7. it so happens that the game is very lag. what video configurations should i use in order for it not to lag. i am using my toshiba netbook. could i do something about this? or is this hopeless. please and thank you :)

Can you please tell us what specs does your computer have?It's very crucial to know that in order for us to tell you what video config you should use.
