I have released another update to my Nintendo GameBoy Advance emulator, VGBA-Android 3.9.67, to the Google Play:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...d=com.fms.vgba

VGBA-Android Release Announcements
Hello, All!
This morning, I have released VGBA-Android 4.1.2, a new version of my GameBoy Advance emulator:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...d=com.fms.vgba
The major new feature in this new version is the Record/Replay functionality. You can now record your gameplay and "go back in time" by clicking the Replay button. When you want to go back, select "Replay" from the menu, or click on another action bar button: VGBA will show the playback indicator and start replaying your past moves.
As the menu started getting crowded, I merged Freeze/Restore functions into a single menu item called "States". Cheat-related items, including Cheatopedia, can now be found under "Cheats", and the network play is controlled with a single "NetPlay" toggle item. There have been other small fixes and changes as well.

VGBA-Android Release Announcements
Hello, All!
I have released the next version of my GameBoy Advance emulator, VGBA-Android 4.1.14, to the Google Play:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...d=com.fms.vgba
Starting with this version, you can report non-working Cheatopedia cheats. Simply hold the cheat code entry with your finger, then select "Report Non-Working Cheat" from the context menu. Similarly, you can report faulty games from the File Selector. I have also added the complete file deletion option to the File Selector. Choosing this option from the context menu will delete the ROM and all files associated with that ROM (*.sav, *.sta, *.frz, *.png, *.mid).
Several people asked me to exit the emulator by double-clicking the BACK button, to avoid accidentally clicking that button during game play. The double-click is now the default behavior. If you want to go back to the single click, uncheck the "Press BACK Twice to Quit" in the Settings.
Finally, I hope that the latest license verification fix will make things easier for the users complaining about the license verification acting up when they have no network connection.
ALL CHANGES:
* Now exiting emulation when user presses BACK twice (not once as before).
* Uncheck "Press BACK Twice to Quit" setting to restore original behavior.
* Added "Completely Delete File" to the File Selector context menu.

VGBA-Android Release Announcements
Hello, All!
I have just published a rather major 4.2.3 update to VGBA-Android, my GameBoy Advance emulator:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...d=com.fms.vgba
Starting with this version, I am switching to the native OpenSLES audio API, for much lower latencies and better performance. Android 2.2 (Frodo) users, who have no OpenSLES, will continue using Java-based audio. If you are experiencing any problems with the native audio, report them to me and disable the "Native Audio" setting for the time being.
I have also taken steps to fix the main remaining cause of app crashes. From now on, VGBA will aggressively recycle any bitmaps it allocates, to prevent Android from running out of bitmap memory.
Finally, VGBA no longer requires touchscreen, letting it work on Android devices other than phones and tablets. More on this in the nearest future.
ALL CHANGES:
* Now defaulting to OpenSLES native audio, for minimal latency.
* Now recycling bitmaps to prevent Bitmap.nativeCreate() crashes.
* No longer requiring touchscreen support from the Android device.
* Added "Audio Rate" setting, for controlling sampling rate.
* Added "Native Audio" setting, for disabling OpenSLES, if needed.
* Fixed initial audio initialization always setting 100ms latency.
* Fixed audio pause/resume when activity pauses or resumes.
* Refactored audio control between Java and native code.
Have fun!

Play on a 55" screen, using your TV remote to control the game, or plug a USB gamepad for better experience. In order to adapt to the wide TV screen, I have added the new grid view mode to the File Selector. Even if you only have a tablet or a phone, you can enable this mode via the menu. On larger tablets, it may work better for you than the default list view.

VGBA-Android Release Announcements
Hello, All!
The VGBA-Android 4.3, a new version of my GameBoy Advance emulator released today, comes with major sound quality improvements:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...d=com.fms.vgba
Many users have complained about VGBA sound quality in the past. In this new VGBA release, I have switched to a different sound rendering algorithm, finally fixing the delay between direct and melodic audio channels that many Pokemon Fire Red and Leaf Green users complained in the past. The problem is not limited to these games, so other affected games will show improvement as well. In addition to fixing the delay issue, the new sound code should also remove echo and distortions. A few game-specific audio problems may still occur though.
ALL CHANGES:
* Switched to simpler and more precise sound rendering algorithm.
* Fixed lag between wave and melodic channels (Pokemon games, etc).
* Improved overall audio quality a lot.
Have fun!
