VBA Load fails under VISTA
I am new to this site, so apologies if this is a known issue - can't see an obvious answer.
When my son plays a game on his Windows VISTA PC with the VisualBoyAdvance emulator, all is OK until he tries to reload. The game just locks up.
On my old XP machine all works fine.
Is there a known fix for this?
Re: VBA Load fails under VISTA
this may help download direct x 9.0c (Feb. 2010) I installed this om windows 7 32-bit and 64-bit so Vista may be able to install it It's a big download 104MB
http://www.softwarepatch.com/windows/directx.html
Also try this
VBA-M [svn 926 MFC]
VBA-M is a [Super] Game Boy [Color / Advance] emulator for Windows, Linux & Mac. Here you can get information about the latest development build of the Windows version and download it while you're at it.

If you do not have direct x 9.0c (Feb. 2010) installed this emulator will not run.

OK, Just a summary of what I have found while solving this - might help someone. I am not intending to cause offence to any of the emulator authors - I think both I have tried are very good.
VisualBoyAdvance Emulator V1.8.0 beta-3
Runs OK on three household PCs XP, Vista and Windows 7. loaded games lock-up on the Vista PC
Updated to latest Direct X 9.0c as advised - same result.
VBA-M
Runs and loads the same game on the Vista PC. All OK now on the Vista PC = happy son.
Thanks very much for the advice.
